What Is a Good Domain Authority?

Domain authority (DA) is a score assigned by search engines to a website that predicts how well it will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). It was created by Moz, an SEO software company, and it ranges from 1-100. A higher domain authority score indicates a higher likelihood of ranking well on SERPs, and consequently, higher organic traffic.

However, it is important to note that a good domain authority score is relative to the industry and niche. For example, a DA score of 50 might be very good for a small business in a niche market while it might be considered low for a large corporation in a highly competitive industry.

In general, a DA score of 30 or above is considered good, and anything above 50 is considered excellent. The higher the score, the better the chances of ranking high on SERPs.

Domain authority is also not the only factor that determines search engine rankings. Websites with lower DA scores can still rank high if they have high-quality content that is relevant to the user’s search query.

Improving your domain authority score has many moving parts such as optimizing your website’s technical structure and improving user experience but the score is particularly influenced by high-quality backlinks.
